Meet the Staff

Miss"Stacy"Anastasia (Director)-  Absolutely loves teaching dance and inspiring the students of Anastasia's Spotlight Dance! After teaching at Spotlight she decided to take on the task of becoming the studio's director.  Stacy has taught dance classes and choreographed for several community plays. She has also taught dance to students of various ages for local home school groups and also choreographed local high school productions such as The Sound of Music, Music Man and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Her students have won awards at the regional “Word of Life” and “Teens Involved” competitions for lyrical and Sign Language routines. She studied dance at the Gail Bayer School of Dance and at Val Mates School of Dance where she competed in Tap. In 2007, she began judging the Erie County Fair Talent Show.  She is currently attending Dance Masters of America's Teacher's Training School at the University of Buffalo, is a member of Dance Rochester and the Upstate Christian Dance Alliance. She hopes to have a positive influence not only in dance but in the lives of her students, from her three year olds to her 70 year old tap student. May God Bless You!

Miss Kezia (Assistant Director) has been dancing for 17+ years. She is trained in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Hip Hop and has coached gymnastics at Northern Hemisphere and Challenge Athletics. She competed for 8 years, receiving 1st place awards for group and solo dances on numerous occasions. Kezia attended a Christian Dance training in Syracuse with- Light of the World Ballet. She has taken master classes from companies like NUVO and Broadway Dance Center. As well as performing with companies like Rochester City Ballet, Flower City Ballet, and Project Dance in NYC. Kezia has also had the opportunity to work with countless professional Modern dance companies and choreographers such as: Koresh, David Dorfman, Heather Roffe, Hettie Barnhill, and Heather Acomb. She attended Nazareth College, where she obtained her B.S. in Dance and B.A. Community Youth Development. At Nazareth, competed at UDA regional and national competitions through the NCAA certified Dance Team.
As a teacher, Kezia strives to create an environment where dancers can praise the Lord, be themselves, and use dance as a healing tool.

  Miss Heather- Heather has been teaching dance for over 20 years and started ballet training when she was five years old.  In 1988, she became a member of the Genesee Ballet Repertoire Company where she danced in the productions of Sleeping Beauty and Coppelia.  She was also the Principle dancer in the Nutcracker and performed the Nutcracker Pas de Deux.  Heather attended Genesee Community College on a full talent scholarship and then attended Mercyhurst College as a dance minor in ballet and modern.  She has danced in and choreographed routines for various regional and national dance competitions such as Starbound, Rising Star, Star Systems and Dance Masters of America.  She helped choreograph the Nutcracker at GCC for 2 years.  She has attended the Dance Masters of America's Teacher's Training School and the Christopher National Dance Teacher Seminars.

Miss Lori- Lori has been dancing for 21 years and teaching for over 15 years. In high school, she received several awards in local dance competitions. She is a 2003 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University at Buffalo with a B.A. in Dance, where she studied under many great teachers and numerous professionals such as ABT and Kirov Ballet. She also choreographed for Dancer’s Workshop, a student run organization at UB, for several years. She was President and Secretary of Tau Sigma Honor Society.  She was a member of the Post Concert Dance Company at CW Post in Long Island, which performed in school concerts, nursing homes and other community events. She was a member of the Rochester Broadway Theatre Leauge, in which she participated in dance workshops with master teachers and groups such as Tapdawgs, Tom Ralabate, Cara Gargano, Jeanne Fornarola, Lynne Formato and Miss Saigon.  Miss Lori is also the Director of the New Day Christian Preschool program in Greece and a cheerleading coach.

Miss Crisanna- Miss Crisanna has been dancing for over 10 years and has competed with Spotlight's Competition Team and Christian Dance Troupe-Reflections.  She has won numerous awards for her solo and group performances as well as for some of her choreography. Crisanna was selected through audition to join a Syracuse based dance company Light of the World and danced with them for 2 years in many settings venues. Crisanna has be under the training of Ballet Magnificant!, a professional Christian Ballet Company and recently attained her Dance Masters Certification in dance as well as acrobatics certification.  Crisanna has also performed with the Moscow Ballet for 2 years, as well as at various community and charity events. She is an active member at the Father's House where she teaches a bible study, participates in dance performances, and is very active with youth.  While most of her training has been at Spotlight, she continues her studies through local workshops with guest teachers and classes at Broadway Dance Center when she can.  This is Crisanna's fifth year teaching at Spotlight.  Her warm, caring attitude and passion for dance is loved by both the parents and students here.

Miss Amanda is a Spotlight Alumni who has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She competed with Spotlights Competition team for numerous years and performed with the Spotlights Christian dance troop at various community events. Amanda has performed with Moscow ballet and held an internship with Churchville-Chilis dance department. She was also apart of the Rochester Rhinettes, which is the professional dance team that performs at the Rochester Rhinos Soccer games. Amanda has taught ballet, pre-dance, jazz, tap, acro, and our Christian Dance Troup at the studio as well as working in the office.  Amanda recently graduated St. John Fisher College with her Bachelors in Accounting and is currently a graduate student pursuing her MBA

Guest Teachers

Miss Jackie- Jackie has been teaching dance for 8 years. She was a beloved teacher at Anastasia's Spotlight Dance for 5 years and has since moved to Niagara Falls.  She is the choreographer and founder of Destiny In Motion Dance Team out of Niagara Falls, New York, and has earned High Silver, Gold, and Platinum scores on pieces of her choreography. She also teaches and choreographs for a song-and-dance troupe. Jackie is the resident choreographer of the Niagara Wheatfield Senior High School Musicals and has choreographed for Edward Town Middle School Musicals as well. Jackie also produced the Destiny In Motion Dance Showcase 2008 featuring much of her choreography. Inside the classroom, she was a dance assistant for 5 years with the Lewiston Dance Center in Lewiston, NY. Jackie has experience teaching Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical/ Contemporary, Modern, Hiphop, and Musical Theatre. She has received dance training from such schools and individuals as Rachel Novelli, Kathy Abondanza, and Patti Hewitt of the Lewiston Dance Center, Adell Hoover of Adell’s School of Dance, Gracie Schupp of Miss Bev’s Dance Studio and Adell’s School of Dance, Janet Dunstan of Janet Dunstan’s Dance Academy, Courtney World, Marianne Reilly, and Bill Evans of SUNY Brockport, and several workshops and classes at Niagara Community College: Tanzen Dance Company, Niagara Dance Centre, Niagara University, Buffalo State College, and The Broadway Dance Center. She is a graduate from the College at Brockport where she has a dual major in Dance and Journalism.  She will be one of our guest teachers this summer at our Extreme Dance Camp.

Trent Jeffords - Trent is a former Ballroom dance teacher of Spotlight Dance who currently lives in NYC and works as a performer for Carnival Cruise Lines. He is a talented actor, singer, and dancer who will be a guest teacher this summer at our Extreme Dance Camp.

Nicole Banard - Nicole is also a former dance teacher at Anastasia's Spotlight Dance.  She is away at college pursuing a career as a Chiropractor, however she will be one of our guest teachers this summer.

Michelle Presler-Michelle is currently a member of the Rochester City Ballet. She has a BFA in Dance from the University of Arizona and has trained with the Orlando Ballet and the Timothy M. Draper Center for Dance Education. She will be one of our guest teachers this summer.

Topher Holt- Topher is a member of PUSH Musical Theater.  He will be teaching Capoera Dance at our Extreme Dance Camp this summer.
